Experimental investigation of the effect of cooling sawn timber on its rigidity and bending strength

Pieces of pine lumber were tested to determine their MOE and bending strength at 20 degrees C and after cooling to 0 degrees C. The results indicate that cooling to 0 degrees C causes a 30% increase in MOE and a 20% increase in bending strength.
