Experimental larval ascaridosis (Ascaris suum Goetze, 1782) in white mice

Experimental larval ascaridosis (Ascaris suum Goetze, 1782) in white mice

Acta Veterinaria Hungarica 33(1/2): 25-32

Of 40 female white mice, 35 were inoculated orally with about 5000 eggs of A. suum. On each of days 3 to 9 after infection 5 mice were killed and their livers examined. The glucosaminoglycane content was lower than in controls on days 3 to 7, but reached control levels on days 8 and 9. DNA content in hepatocyte nuclei was near control values on day 6 and exceeded them thereafter.
