Experimental mutagenesis in chickpea

Experimental mutagenesis in chickpea

Nauchni Trudove, Vissh Selskostopanski Institut "Vasil Kolarov" 27(4): 99-110

Seeds of 6 Bulgarian varieties were treated with 4-16 krad gamma -ray doses and with 5 concentrations of ethyl methanesulphonate (EMS) in experiments during 1976-77, the mutations obtained being studied in the M2-M-4. A wide range of mutants affecting habit, pod distribution, seed size and shape, earliness and resistance to Ascochyta rabiei was obtained. The variety Dobrudzhanski 6 was the most mutable.
