Experimental parvovirus infection in sows immunized with porcine parvovirus vaccine or combined porcine parvovirus and Aujeszky's disease vaccine

Five sows that had been given two doses of an inactivated porcine parvovirus vaccine at 6 and 7 months of age (25 days apart) and five given similar doses of a combined inactivated porcine parvovirus-Aujeszky virus vaccine were mated about two months after the second dose and challenged intravenously with porcine parvovirus 88 days after the second dose, when HI titres to porcine parvovirus ranged between 80 and 1280. They were killed 20 days later.
