Experimental proof of itching papules caused by Cheyletus malaccensis Oudemans

Experimental proof of itching papules caused by Cheyletus malaccensis Oudemans

Annual Report of Tokyo Metropolitan Research Laboratory of Public Healthrecd 1985; (34): 264-276

It was shown experimentally that Cheyletus malaccensis bit human skin and caused an itching papule when mites were individually kept in a newly developed cage that directly touched the skin for 24 h. Itching papules 2-20 mm in diameter appeared on the skin of 3 of 4 volunteers (A, B and C), while no distinct papule or erythema appeared on the skin of the fourth (D).
