Experimental rearing in feedlots of zebu calves previously kept under nomadic conditions

During about 40 days of adaptation 24 male Sahiwal or Sahiwal X Dawara calves of mean initial age 14 months and liveweight 145 kg previously reared under nomadic conditions, were given water, maize cobs and imported "corn soya milk". For 40 more days, to final weight exceeding 160 kg, they had daily 2 kg coarsely chopped maize cobs and stalks sprinkled with 0.5 increased to 1 kg molasses, also 2 kg concentrate.
