Experimental reproduction of lymphoid leukosis in sheep by bovine leukosis virus

Experimental reproduction of lymphoid leukosis in sheep by bovine leukosis virus

Vestnik Sel' skokhozyaistvennoi Nauki (12): 97-102

Six Karakul lambs, 3 months old, were inoculated intraperitoneally, intravenously or intradermally with 625 million leukocytes from a leukotic cow. The inoculation was repeated 3 months later. 8 more lambs received fluid from cell cultures infected with bovine oncovirus, and another 8 received gp70 and p24 antigens. There was considerable variation in the haematological response; leukaemic, subleukaemic and aleukaemic forms were recorded.
