On a clay soil of 2.7% OM and pH 6.5, MON-4606 (2-chloro-4-(trifluoromethyl)-5-thiazole carboxylic acid, benzyl ester) protected sorghum against 2.88 and 7.72 kg alachlor and 2.4-2.88 kg acetochlor/ha without impairing weed control. The lowest protective rate was 0.0125% a.i. w/w seed treatment.
