Experimental studies on the importance and mechanism of the desensitisation to the gonadotropin-inhibiting effect of oestrogen. 1. Studies on prepubertal desensitisation

Zentralblatt fur Gynakologie 106(6): 1124-1136

In rats, the gonadotropin-inhibiting effect of oestradiol treatment decreased, and the concentrations of oestradiol and gonadotropins in the blood increased, during the last few days before the onset of puberty.
