Experimental study of the degradation of poplar lignins in an alluvial soil and in river water (Garonne)

Experimental study of the degradation of poplar lignins in an alluvial soil and in river water (Garonne)

Comptes Rendus des Seances de l' Academie des Sciences, III, Sciences de la Vie 302(3): 87-90

The degree of degradation of poplar lignocelluloses labelled in the lignin fraction with phenylalanine 14C (U) is similar under controlled conditions, in the water of the Garonne and in an alluvial soil bordering the river. However some differences appear in 14CO2 evolution between the two types of environments, as well as in the level of hydrosoluble degraded products recovered.
