Experimental transmission to calf and goat of the virus associated with the cultured T-cell lymphoma cell line from the calf type of bovine leukosis. II. Detection of antibodies to BTLV by ELISA

Experimental transmission to calf and goat of the virus associated with the cultured T-cell lymphoma cell line from the calf type of bovine leukosis. II. Detection of antibodies to BTLV by ELISA

Bulletin of the Nippon Veterinary and Zootechnical College (34): 27-31

The bovine T-cell lymphoma-associated virus (BTLV) was inoculated s/c into a calf and a goat. For the ELISA, the BTLV antigen was prepared from a crude virus fraction that was precipitated by ultracentrifugation from the culture supernatant of BTL-C 3 cells; the goat antiserum was absorbed with normal bovine thymocytes. In the calf, the antibodies were increased 1-4 months after inoculation, and they were still positive 5 months after inoculation, although they were slightly decreased.
