In pot experiments, Phaseolus vulgaris Michigan, flax Millenium and maize Kb-270 were given 1 or 2 spray applications of water (control), GA3, IAA or kinetin, or a combined application of the 3 growth regulators. P. vulgaris responded most to growth regulators, resulting in higher yields of whole plants, pods and seeds compared with controls. A single application of GA3 at the start of flower bud formation was the most effective.
