Experiments on the prevention of coral spot disease (Nectria cinnabarina)

Pruning cuts on Acer pseudoplatanus, Robinia pseudoacacia and Tilia tomentosa were treated with 15 compounds. The following were effective in preventing infection by N. cinnabarina: Topsin-M ASU 80 055 LWF (carbendazim + captan + dichlorobenzoic acid methyl ester), Tervanol + carbendazim. In order not to produce a stub of dead wood, pruning should be carried out as close as possible to a bud or branch.
