Exploitation in simple commodity agriculture: the case of Saskatchewan

Exploitation in simple commodity agriculture: the case of Saskatchewan

Dissertation Abstracts International, A 45(1): p.305

This thesis analyzes the exploitation of non-capitalist farmers by capitalist firms located outside agriculture. Relying primarily on Marx's analysis of 19th century capitalism, it extends his analysis to agriculture in contemporary advanced capitalist societies. This analysis rests on Marx's version of the labour theory of value. An abstract conceptual framework of the various forms of value production and distribution which exist within capitalist societies is developed.
