Exploration of Nijhumdwip through remote sensing technique

Exploration of Nijhumdwip through remote sensing technique

Bano Biggyan Patrikarecd 1986; 12(1/2): 42-46

Landsat MSS data (bands 5 and 7) of a small island in the Bay of Bengal were collected in 1973-83; images were enlarged to a scale of 1:25 000, and processed. Black and white and IR aerial photographs were also interpreted. Results were compared with known ground data. Areas lost and reformed by erosion and accretion were identified and rates of afforestation determined.
