Exposure to different cryoprotectants, freezing, incubation and vital staining of rabbit embryos and blastomeres



Sel' skokhozyaistvennaya Biologiya (3): 101-104



Rabbit embryos at the 2- to 8-cell stages in 1.6 or 1.8 M DMSO were frozen rapidly or slowly in liquid nitrogen, and blastomeres derived from 2- to 16-cell embryos were frozen in 1.5-1.8 M DMSO, or in 0.5 M or 1.0 M dimethylacetamide. Embryos and blastomeres were thawed at 5 degrees -14 degrees C or 25 degrees per min, incubated for 24-30 h in modified medium 199, and stained with neutral red. All embryos and isolated blastomeres were dead after thawing.
