Supercoiled plasmid DNA of maize zein genomic clones was injected into isolated Acetabularia nuclei which were then implanted into anucleate Acetabularia cells. Cytoplasmic smears were subjected to an immunofluorescence technique involving zein antibodies and anti-IgG-fluorescein conjugate.
