Extension of the range on offer by self production

Extension of the range on offer by self production

Zierpflanzenbau 25(18): 762-763

Flower colour, productivity and vase life of 17 gerbera cultivars are tabulated. The white flowered Alp produced the most (34) flowering stems per plant which kept the longest (30 days) in Chrysal solution. A 2-year culture period in containers proved more economic than 1-year culture. Simultaneous culture of gerberas with foliage plants is suggested.
