Possibilities and advantages of renovating industrial roofs with various types of green vegetation are discussed and illustrated. Requirements of 6 vegetation types regarding thickness of substrate (1-16 cm), water storage and nutrients are tabulated. The weights of dry and water saturated drainage material, soil and special substrates and vegetation are given.
