Extracting seeds from fleshy fruits



Plant Propagator 32(2): 14-15



Commonly available household equipment was modified, and other equipment fabricated, for the purpose of extracting seeds from fleshy fruits. Food processing blenders were used to macerate fleshy fruits, after replacing the metal blades with plastic tubing propellers. An electric drill was used to power a portable macerating propeller. Procedures used to prepare fruit for seed extraction are discussed.
