Of 3 methods used for extraction of polysaccharides from cells of C. sepedonicum (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. sepedonicus) mild alkaline hydrolysis was the best, giving the max. yield, high carbohydrate content and absence of protein and peptidoglycane components.
