Extraction by hydrodiffusion of the essential oil of Monarda fistulosa grown in the province of Quebec: assay of geraniol in the hydrodiffused oil

Extraction by hydrodiffusion of the essential oil of Monarda fistulosa grown in the province of Quebec: assay of geraniol in the hydrodiffused oil

International Journal of Crude Drug Research 24(3): 120-122

Hybrid Morden No.3 yields an oil with a geraniol content > 90%. In 1983, Agriculture Canada planted two experimental plots at Ste. Clotilde, which has a rich soil with a high humus content, and at L'Acadie, which has a poor sandy-clay soil. Stems and leaves of the first season's growth extracted by hydrodiffusion yielded 0.28 to 0.39% oil (0.18% if allowed to dry for 3 days prior to extraction). In the laboratory samples from Ste.
