In Hungary, since 1982, during winter and spring, bacterial gill disease has caused losses in sheatfish (Silurus glanis), silver carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix) and rainbow trout (Salmo gairdneri). The disease has also occurred in rainbow trout in the Netherlands.
