Geometrical features of seeds of Scots pine, Norway spruce and European larch

Geometrical features of seeds of Scots pine, Norway spruce and European larch

Sylwan 127(7): 31-40

ISSN/ISBN: 0039-7660

Analyses were made of seed geometry to improve methods for mechanized grading and treatment of seeds. Seed cross-sectional areas were calculated by different published methods based on all 3 seed dimensions (length, width and thickness) and a new method which treats the area as a circle with a diam. equal to the mean of the 3 dimensions.
