Global feminism and its implications for leisure Paper presented at the International conference on leisure: research perspectives, May 19-23, 1986, Brazil: 7

Feminism and leisure can be viewed from a global perspective. While one is not dependent on the other, parallels exist concerning the common goals of freedom and integrity. The attainment of the goals of 'equity, dignity, and freedom of choice through the power to control one's life and body, both within and outside the home', and 'the removal of all forms of inequality and oppression in society' (Bunch, 1985) cannot help but advance the potential of leisure for women.
