Immobilization of beta -D-galactosidase from Aspergillus oryzae on powdered nylon-6 or zeolites was investigated using various methods of support activation. Zeolites activated with 3-aminotriethoxysilane or cyanuric chloride proved unsuitable supports for the enzyme, as coupling yields were very low. Powdered nylon-6 activated via triethyloxoniumtetrafluoroborate was the most suitable matrix.
