Infection of rodent myeloma Y3-Ag 1.2.3 cells by Trypanosoma cruzi metacyclic trypomastigotes

Infection of rodent myeloma Y3-Ag 1.2.3 cells by Trypanosoma cruzi metacyclic trypomastigotes

Journal of Parasitology 70(6): 1005-1007

Rat myeloma cell line Y3-Ag 1.2.3 was cultivated in Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium (on cover glasses in 24-well tissue culture plates) and metacyclic forms of T. cruzi (Tulahuen strain) were added (5 x 105 organisms/well). At 3 h and subsequently at 3 day intervals, cover glasses were removed and examined. The number of amastigotes/infected Y3 cell increased during the first 6 days.
