Is it possible to increase fruit set in sweet cherries?
Six inhibitors of endogenous biosynthesis supplied in aqueous solution at 10-4M concentration a few days after anthesis increased fruit set (control value 2.45%). Most effective were putrescine (10.14% set) and 1,3-diaminopropane (9.50%), but they reduced mean fruit weight from 7.36 g to about 6.3 g.
