Juice expression from sweet sorghum cultivars of different fiber content
The relation between fibre content of sweet sorghum stalks and juice expression was determined to provide information for utilization of sweet sorghum as a source of fermentable sugars. Juice was expressed from 8 cultivars of sweet sorghum and 1 of sugarcane using a farm-scale 3-roll mill operated at 0.3 t/h and a laboratory cage press operated at 10 340 kPa pressure.
