, : Ketoconazole treatment of disseminated paracoccidioidomycosis in the rat. Revista Argentina de Micologia 8(1): 6-8

Wistar rats were given ketoconazole orally for 4 weeks at 40 or 80 mg/kg/day starting 3 days before challenge inoculation with Paracoccidioides brasiliensis. On autopsy, granulomas of the lungs were found in 12 of 15 animals of the untreated control, in 3 of 5 rats given ketoconazole at 40 mg/kg/day and in 2 of 16 rats treated at 80 mg/kg/day.
