Leaf morphology and anatomy in Sorbus aucuparia, Sorbus gorodkovii and Sorbus sibirica (Rosaceae)

Leaf morphology and anatomy in Sorbus aucuparia, Sorbus gorodkovii and Sorbus sibirica (Rosaceae)

Botanicheskii Zhurnal 67(9): 1264-1271

In an attempt to determine whether the disputed taxa S. sibirica and S. gorodkovii merit specific ranking, an anatomical and morphological study was carried out on material from various regions of the USSR. Wide variation was found in morphological characters of the leaf but some anatomical characters were more stable and reliable for differentiating the taxa.
