For Russian Black Pied (RBP), Holstein-Friesian (HF), HF X RBP, and HF X (HF X RBP) bulls (11 per group), half-carcass weight at 17 months of age averaged 129.2, 120.2, 122.0 and 134.5 kg resp., the percentage of lean in the carcass 78.9, 76.4, 78.0 and 77.3, the percentage of bone 23.8, 24.6, 23.2 and 26.3, and kg lean per kg bone and tendons 3.48, 3.25, 3.55 and 3.41, the differences of HFs from other groups in the percentages of lean and bone being significant.
