New equipment for measuring the speed of ultrasound and its application in the estimation of body composition of farm livestock
The equipment described incorporates 2 ultrasonic transducers held in line, one acting as a transmitter and the other as a receiver. An electronic system gives a measurement of the reciprocal of the speed of ultrasonic pulses passing through the animal being examined.
