New types of Cs chlorosis found in hybrids between the Emmer and Timopheevi group of the tetraploid wheats

New types of Cs chlorosis found in hybrids between the Emmer and Timopheevi group of the tetraploid wheats

Wheat Information Service (60): 38-39

It has been reported that hybrid chlorosis in Emmer X group Timopheevii wheat hybrids is caused by 2 complementary genes, Cs1 (Emmer) and Cs2 (Timopheevii). F1 hybrids from crosses between 11 group Timopheevii genotypes (10 of Triticum araraticum and 1 of T. timopheevii) and KU123, a Cs1 tester line of T. dicoccum, fell into 4 phenotypic classes: (1) normal, (2) weakly chlorotic, (3) moderately chlorotic, and (4) severely chlorotic.
