Nuclear logging and electrical earth resistivity techniques in the vadose zone in glaciated earth materials

Nuclear logging and electrical earth resistivity techniques in the vadose zone in glaciated earth materials

Proceedings of the NWWA/US EPA Conference on Characterization and Monitoring of the Vadose Unsaturated Zone: 580-599

Nuclear borehole logging equipment is suitable for vadose zone moisture and density measurements. Data obtained using nuclear borehole logging equipment compares favorably with nuclear gauge moisture and density measurements. The natural gamma radiation and the less than.004mm clay fraction of the vadose zone are directly related in glacial deposits.
