The efficacy of multiple s/c injections (200 micro g/kg) of ivermectin in the control of naturally occurring tick infestations on traditionally managed Tonga-11a (Sanga type) calves and yearlings was assessed in two field trials. In the first trial Boophilus decoloratus infestations were decreased following treatments at monthly intervals.
