Observations on the management of acaricides used to control ticks in the traditional cattle sector in Zambia

The management of acaricides to control ticks on cattle in Zambia was studied in 1980-82 by chemical analyses of toxaphene and organophosphorus dipwashes and visits to dip tanks and spraying points. Sample submissions were low but increased each year. Out of 423 samples received, 45 had the correct strength, 350 were under strength and 20 were over strength.
