Abstract
In a 2-yr survey of Belgian nurseries, samples from symptomless mother plants taken during winter and spring were tested by PAGE for chrysanthemum stunt viroid, and commercial chrysanthemums surveyed for visual symptoms in Oct. The viroid was found only in coloured cultivars, not in white pot chrysanthemums. It could be detected in both viroid-suspected and symptomless plants. A moderate to high rate of infection was observed in 7 out of 55 nurseries surveyed.
