On the nature and purposes of a sporting activity: the connection between sport, life and politics

Physical Education Review 9(1): 5-13

From a consideration of the nature and purpose of rowing it is suggested that the relationship between sporting activity, life, and educational opportunities, and the importance of the moral, social and political principles of all three, may be grasped through physical education.
