Pancreatic pseudocyst associated with acute pancreatitis in a dog: ultrasonographic diagnosis

Pancreatic pseudocyst associated with acute pancreatitis in a dog: ultrasonographic diagnosis

Journal of the American Animal Hospital Association 21(3): 411-416

A nine-year-old castrated male Cocker Spaniel was presented with vomiting, anorexia, and depression of five days' duration. The dog had abdominal pain and a large mass was palpable in the right cranial abdomen. Laboratory findings included leukocytosis with a left shift, and elevations of serum amylase, lipase, cholesterol, and alkaline phosphatase levels. Ultrasonographically, the abdominal mass appeared as a complex cystic structure with multiple internal echoes in the pancreatic region.
