To develop a better understanding of N sinks, cowpea Bush Purple Hill plants grown in vermiculite medium and solution culture were pulsed with 15N2 or 15NO3- during early pod development. The fate of the incorporated 15N was followed during pod development by destructively sampling plants during a 19-day period.
