Pathogenesis of Pasteurella anatipestifer infection in ducks and drug sensitivity

Taiwan Journal of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry (43): 40-46

Pathogenesis of Pasteurella anatipestifer infection in ducks and drug sensitivity

Three-week-old native ducklings were inoculated with local isolates of P. anatipestifer by various routes. The results indicated that infection can occur intraocularly, intranasally, and via the joint cavity and infraorbital sinus. The symptoms were similar to those seen in the field; mild coughing, sneezing, nasal and ocular discharges, green diarrhoea, ataxia, and tremor of the head and neck.
