Pathological studies on Erwinia carotovora subsp. carotovora, the pathogen of tobacco hollow stalk disease

Bulletin of the Morioka Tobacco Experiment Station (18): 1-73

Pathological studies on Erwinia carotovora subsp. carotovora, the pathogen of tobacco hollow stalk disease

As part of a wider pathological study of this disease, for which no resistant parents are yet available, it was observed that larger lesions were produced by the pathogen on white tobacco than on green tobacco. Burley and a Japanese variety, 5, are both white types and frequently attacked by the disease, with 10% of the crop area affected in wet years.
