Patterns of K/N ratios with growth of guinea pig, beagle, and pig

Patterns of K/N ratios with growth of guinea pig, beagle, and pig
Mean whole body ratios of potassium:nitrogen were 2.57, 2.53 and 1.79, respectively, for guineapigs 1 to 80 days old (82 to 849 g), pigs from birth to 89 days (151 g to 33.650 kg) and beagle dogs from birth to 383 days (252 g to 13.065 kg). There were strong correlations between total K, total N and fat-free wet weight (FFWW). Increase in bodyweight of the beagle and of the components, skeletal muscle and nonmuscle, were divisible into 2 periods, from 0 to 62 and 63 to 383 days.
