Macroptilium atropurpureum Siratro, Stylosanthes guianensis Endeavour, Panicum maximum Gatton and Chloris gayana Boma were grown in pots in Red-Yellow acid soil (RYS) or Dark-Red alkali soil (DRS) with 0-600 mg P/pot added. Application of P resulted in a greater growth response in Gatton than in Boma, but no differences were detected between the legumes.
