Plasma progesterone and LH profiles in dairy heifers following oestrus synchronization with PGF2 alpha and GnRH

Plasma progesterone and LH profiles in dairy heifers following oestrus synchronization with PGF2 alpha and GnRH

South African Journal of Animal Science 15(1): 25-26

Oestrus synchronization was accomplished in 6 Friesland heifers by 2 injections of PGF2 alpha , 11 days apart. During the ensuing synchronized oestrus, 3 of the 6 heifers received 2.5 ml GnRH concomitant with the first of 2 inseminations (approx. 10 and 24 h resp. after detection of oestrus).
