Preliminary results on the industrial-type storage of headed cabbage under CA storage conditions

Preliminary results on the industrial-type storage of headed cabbage under CA storage conditions

Nachrichtenblatt fur den Pflanzenschutz in der DDR 38(9): 185-187

In a large-scale experiment, headed cabbages were grown under extreme weather conditions, harvested by hand or machine and subjected to mechanical damage before cold storage (minus 0.5 to 0 degrees C) from Nov. 1982, with or without controlled atmosphere. CA storage at 5-8% CO2 by vol. prevented the spread of Botrytis cinerea, although its effect on Xanthomonas campestris is unknown.
