Short accounts, with some results, are presented of about 30 projects on the integrated control of apple and pear pests and diseases in south-eastern England. These appear under the headings management of scab and powdery mildew; orchard fungicides; integrated pest management; orchard pesticides; damage thresholds; bird damage; apple canker; fireblight; replant diseases; crown rot and collar rot; post-harvest diseases; mycoplasma-like organisms and viruses in pears and apples; and diagnostic and quarantine services.
