Reclamation as an ecological problem. 11. Effect of reclamation measures on nitrogen mineralization and retention

Verhandlungen der Gesellschaft fur Okologie 13: 809-815

Nitrogen net mineralization, nitrification rate, NH4+- and NO3--contents of the soil and NO3-leaching were measured for one year (May 1982 - May 1983) at two different sites on a soil-covered refuse-over-rubble dump. The treatments were: (1) undisturbed, and (2) reclamation by rotary-tillage and grass sowing. On these plots the respective values for net mineralization were 26 940 and 30 246 mg N/msuperscript 2; for NO3-leaching they were 5 631 and 117 mg N/msuperscript 2.
