In pot trials, sweet sorghum grown on a dark red latosol from Catalao, Goias, Brazil was given 50, 100 or 200 p.p.m. P2O5 as triple superphosphate (TS) or rock phosphate (RP) from Catalao with or without liming. TS gave higher yields over 3 successive crops than RP but liming increased the efficiency of RP to about 50% of that of TS. DM yields were not affected by method of fertilizer application but were positively correlated with soil exchangeable Ca.
